May 29,1991 245 <br /> The regular meeting Of the Everett City Council was called to <br /> order <br /> at Bra May 29, 1991 in the City Council Chambers <br /> of the Everett City Hall, MayoPresident Marrow presiding. wUpon <br /> ere <br /> roll call it was found that Mayor Minch and all councilmen were <br /> present. <br /> The minutes of the May 21, 1991 meeting approved <br /> pxlnted withCouncilman Overstreet abstaining fxome tM1e vote. <br /> MAYORS COMMENTS <br /> Charles Soverns, Safety, introduced Lowell Larenz,'- <br /> Filtration Plant, for recognition of his work on a safety <br /> procedure relating to Chlorination. Mayor Kinch presented the <br /> safety award to Mr.Lorenz,- <br /> Ken Housden, Public Works Director, reported Sthat a RV"'dump <br /> site is noavailableatthe5mith Street location and as soon <br /> s construction i completed at the wastewater TreatmentPlant <br /> astation will be available there. <br /> Mayor Kinch reported on his trip t Russia and.Japan and visits <br /> to the sister citiesin those countries. A Russian fishing <br /> C vessel e <br /> will be visiting the Port of Everett this summer and we <br /> will he collecting medical supplies tosend back with them. In <br /> the past our <br /> relationship to the sister city In Japan has been <br /> primarily social; however, in the future it will also be <br /> economic with a focus on tourism. The sister Cities from bath <br /> countries will send representation SO <br /> our Centennial <br /> Celebration. Mayor Kinch expressed appreciation for the <br /> opportunity to represent the City of Everett an this trip. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilman Anderson attended the Neighborhood's USA convention <br /> inMemphis where Everett's Grandview Homes neighborhood <br /> nationally recognized as National Neighborhood of the Year.was <br /> requested that the presentation made at the convention be made <br /> ata council meeting. <br /> C <br /> C <br />
