E) 321 <br /> July 3,1991 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City:Council was <br /> called to <br /> order at B.30 s , July 3, 1991 in.the City CouncilChambers of <br /> the Everett City Nall, President Morrow presiding. upon roll <br /> call it was Pound that Mayor Kinch and all councilmen were <br /> present., <br /> President Morrow recognized Sergeant David Anderson, son <br /> of <br /> Councilman Frank Anderson, who has returned from the Desert <br /> 0 Storm Operation. Councilmembers welcomed him back. Sergeant <br /> Anderson was asked to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the June 26, 1991 meetings were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> Mayor N nch introduced visitors from Sagamihara, Japan. They <br /> are embers o4 a dance groupwho <br /> r ecity promote <br /> our <br /> friendship. Andy Suzuki, local introduced <br /> embers of the dance group. They presented the Mayor with a <br /> Japanese drum and the councilmembers each received a Japanese <br /> scarf. Mayor Kinch presented a special plaque for their city. <br /> Janet Neeley, Economic Development Council, briefed <br /> cooncilmembers On issues the Development Council is involvedin; <br /> such a the Washington Marketplace Program, the. Procurement <br /> Assistance Program and quality Of life issues. <br /> Mayor Kinch announced <br /> ced a press conference will be held at 2 p.m. <br /> today i ncil chambers.regarding.the decision document for <br /> the BoeingcEnvironmental Impact Statement. <br /> Jerry Vrooman reported that a bill was signed in the State <br /> Legislature which clarified the ambiguity of the Library Levy <br /> Lift. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Carl Gipson recognized Bill Rucker, former c ncilmember,in the <br /> audience.: He also reported on <br /> situation where anelderly lady <br /> was in need of assistance and Officer Jim Duffy responded. <br /> Councilman Gipson commended <br /> ended the Police Department and requested <br /> that a solution beprepared as the officer acted beyond the <br /> call of duty. <br /> C <br /> 0 <br />
