He reminded councilmembers that there was a <br /> t <br /> protest petition that w representative of 30 signatures. The 0 <br /> neighborhood meeting washeld with 10 attendees. The attendees <br /> were able tO discuss with the proponent his intentions. The <br /> proponent, Dennis-Collins, assured the property owners that he <br /> e <br /> u1G not develop a concern <br /> the riget-of-way. Another e n that <br /> was evident at the public meeting was an existingstand of <br /> rifer trees on the north side of 63rd Street. One resident <br /> asked that if the trees are within the City right-of-way that <br /> they bepreserved. Craig did say that it i n for sure <br /> whether etrees a n public right-of-way. o <br /> Themeeting was <br /> very favorable and the neighborhood residents attending were <br /> satisfied that their concerns were answered. <br /> Jefftchele1630 Rockefeller Avenue, requested that the <br /> trees Be saved. <br /> d. Mfurther told councilmembers that the trees �` <br /> act as a sound and sight buffer for the neighborhood, t/ <br /> Nr. Fullerton told Council that the City may not legally have <br /> the authority to be able to assure that the trees be preserved. <br /> nnis Collins reminded c ncilmembers that if the trees are on <br /> his property he c has liability for those trees. However, he <br /> does favor leaving the trees. He stated he was <br /> willing to <br /> replace the trees if because of liability reasonsthey need to <br /> be taken dawn. <br /> Mx. Bachelor encouraged the City of Everett to look into <br /> legislative measures to protect such trees. <br /> Councilman Pope felt that at the time the trees will be taken 0 ' <br /> down action could be taken and we shouldn't delay this. <br /> President Morrow said that until.we have a tree'ordinance, <br /> trees will not be protected. <br /> 0 <br /> 0 <br />
