436 <br /> CAugust 21,1991 <br /> The regulars meeting of the Everett City Council was called to <br /> Order at 1:00 p.m., August 21, 1991 In the City Council <br /> Chambers of the Everett City Hall, President MOTIOW presiding. <br /> Upon roll call it was Pound that Mayor Kinch and all councilmen <br /> were present. <br /> The minutes of the August 14, 1991 meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> ' Mayor rKinch requested an executive session on real property <br /> matte. <br /> stew breeden, Communications, announced that several <br /> athletes had competed in the Intenal speciampics a and <br /> received seven 1 gold medals. They will be recognized at City <br /> Hall gat they Mall, September 7, 12:00-3:00 p.m.9n He <br /> also gave <br /> councilmembers a preview of a DARE poster that willbe marketed <br /> nationally. <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> Moved by Councilmen Diamond, seconded by Councilman Gipson to <br /> reconsider a resolution in support of the adoption by Snohomish <br /> Countyof emergency ordinance 'relating to'countywide <br /> property taxes topay for low-income housing and placing on the <br /> 1991 primary election ballot a proposition authorizing the <br /> county to levy regular property taxes in excess of 106 percent <br /> for six years to acquire land and provide housing fox <br /> low-income households in Snohomish County. <br /> Roll was called Math all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Coun( <br /> cilmembers discussed several concerns: 1) the Everett <br /> Housing Authority w not specificall'y mentioned, 2) the City <br /> should be part of s the Levy Oversight.Committee; 3) what <br /> percentage <br /> of ow income housing will be within the City) and <br /> 4) <br /> w w be responsibleparty administering the funds. <br /> n <br /> C <br />
