C, 535 <br /> October 9,1991 <br /> The regular meeting of the le tett City Council wascalled to <br /> order at 8:30 a , October 9, 1991 in the City Council Chamber <br /> of the Everett.City Hall,President Narrow presiding. Upon roll <br /> call it was Pound that Mayor Kinch and allou ncilmen w <br /> present except Councilmen Anderson and Pope whoexcused. <br /> Councilman Overstreet, attending a Snohomish County Tomorrow <br /> meeting,will be late. <br /> The minutes of the October 2, 1991 meeting were approved as <br /> 0 printed. <br /> PROCLAMATIONS <br /> Mayor Kinch made the following proclamations:,_ <br /> Marching Band Day-October 26,1991 <br /> Alpha Delta Kappa Month-October <br /> Recycling Week-October 16th through October 20 <br /> PRESENTATION <br /> Mayor Kinch introduced Maurice Rogers, Chapter President of the <br /> Viet Nam Veterans. Mr. Rogers presented a check In the amunt <br /> of $500 to Elaine Metts, child interview specialist fox,the <br /> Police Department. The money is to be used fax the Police Teddy <br /> Bear Program. <br /> NEIGHBORHOOD POLICING REPORT <br /> Police Chief Pastor remarked that a milestone has been reached <br /> in that ac omprehensive plan for neighborhood policing has been <br /> developed the last nine months. He stressed the <br /> responsibilities of the Police Department to the citizens and <br /> C the responsibilities of citizens to the Police Department. He <br /> pointed to E rettz <br /> leader nationally the of <br /> neighborhood policing. Marian Krell, Council of Neighborhoods <br /> President told of the many hours that had been spent by a number <br /> of citizens and policemen, n owledging them far all their <br /> help. Notebooks containing the "Police-Citizen Comprehensive <br /> Plan for Neighborhood Oriented Policing"were presented to each <br /> councilmember. <br /> C <br />
