C 709 <br /> CDecember 23,1991 <br /> RESOLUTION-TRANSPORTATION GRANT <br /> Moved by Councilman Moser, seconded by Councilman Overstreet to <br /> adapt flesolu ti on No. 3577 authorizing the filing o! <br /> appllcetl0n Sth the Department f Transporratoan, for a grant <br /> under the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended. <br /> The resolution is as follows: <br /> WHEREAS, the 5 creta`^of Tr ansportatlon is authorized S gets <br /> gran is Pox a mess tr spo[tation pxngrem oP projects antl butlget� <br /> WHEREAS, .the contract for financial assistance will impose <br /> certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision <br /> by it of the local share of the project costs in the program; <br /> WHEREAS, it is required by the U.S. Department of <br /> Transportation in accord with the provisions of Title VI of the <br /> Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the applicant give an <br /> -assurance <br /> Gnat-it will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights <br /> Actof 1964 and the .U.S: Department of Transportation <br /> requirements thereunder,and <br /> .WHEREAS, it is the goal of the applicant that minority business <br /> enterprise be utilized to the fullest extent possible In <br /> connection with these projects, and that definit,= procedures <br /> have been established and administered t0 ensure that minority <br /> business shall have themaximum construction eontracts, <br /> supplies,equipment contracts,u consultant and other services; <br /> NOWVE, THERETT <br /> gFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> DF <br /> 1. That the Mayor is authorized to execute <br /> and file a <br />{ application on behalf of the City of Everett with the U.S. <br /> Department of Transportation to aid in the financing of <br /> planning,capital and operating assistance projects pursuant to <br /> Section 9 Of the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as <br /> 2mended. <br /> That the Mayor is authorized to execute and file with such <br /> applications an assurance or any other%document required by the <br /> U.S. Department of Transportation effectuating the purpose of <br /> Title VI of the Civil Rights.'Act of 1964. <br /> 3. That the Mayor is authorized to furnish such additional <br /> information as the U.S. Department of Transportation may <br /> require r ,^ with the application for the:program of' <br /> projects and budget. <br />
