135 April 15,1992 <br /> Roll w called o the[ ant agenda items with all c uncilmen <br /> .pny yes e rape cpnriimen Anderson wno was exrpsea.p <br /> Motion carried. <br /> SILVER LAKE PARK MASTER PLAN <br /> Moved by Councilman Campbell, s onded by Councilman Pope to <br /> approve the Silva[Lake Park Master Plan as presented. <br /> Cooper, reviewed wed the Master Plan and <br /> Bab <br /> Parks <br /> that the consulting firm of MacLeod Reckord has <br /> updated the Silver Lake Park Master Plan under contract with <br /> the Parks Department. The Park Commission approved the nee <br /> Master Plan on March 10, 1992. The n Master Plan includes <br /> improvements to traffic, transportation, and parking <br /> improvement of day amp facilities; improved waterfront, <br /> and picnic sites{ and development of Park property on <br /> the neon <br /> the east side of the lake. <br /> Paul Baldwin, 12023 14th Drive SE, spoke in favor of the park <br /> plan but expressed opposition to placing a fire station on the <br /> property. <br /> Pam Lux, 2215 116th SE, expressetl excitment in regards to the <br /> Park Plan but also stated sf0 was oppose4[o a 0101 station on <br /> park property. <br /> Arlene McKinney, 11305 W. Ibberson Or, reported on various park <br /> enhancements but also expressed opposition to thefire station <br /> location. She presenteea petition tito Council with <br /> approximately 72 signaturesapposing the fire station <br /> location. She also requested that no development be done in <br /> the isolated areas of the park. <br /> o0Dthy Vandeventer, 2012 129th PlaceSE, spoke about water <br /> Quality conerns. <br /> Mayor Kinch stated that the fire station would provide better <br /> fire service for the area. <br /> The s-:tion planned adjacent to the <br /> park site, is planned a a temporary station until the City <br /> growth and service areas <br /> eestablished. After a permanent <br /> fire station siting process, the building could be 1lSed on the <br /> site for park purposes or could be moved to another location <br /> Par other city uses. • {\ <br /> 1 <br />
