163 <br /> May 6,1992 <br /> Roll was <br /> called.on the consent agenda items with all councilmen <br /> voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> TRANSIT FREE FARE DAV <br /> Moved by Councilman Moser, seconded by Councilman Overstreet to <br /> authorize Everett Transit to allow passengers to ride free on li <br /> May 13,1992 in recognition of"Try Transit Meek." <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> AGREEMENT.-'PURCHASE of VANS,.BUSES.(BOEING MITIGATION) <br /> Moved by Councilmen Moser,aconded by Councilmen Overstreet to <br /> authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement between the City of <br /> Everett, CT, Metro, and Boeing concerning mitigation of the <br /> Boeing Facility expansion by purchase of vans and buses. <br /> Pursuant to then Document..for the Boeing expansion, <br /> r <br /> Boeing obligated r s a topurchase BO d.10 to <br /> mitigates of the transportation impacts of r expansion. <br /> Oeing willsome <br /> these vehicles and retain title to the <br /> vehicles through their respective depreciation periods. The <br /> agreement between Everett, CT, Metro, and Boeing explains the <br /> ownership'..and usage of these vehicles. All parties.to the <br /> agreement have negotiated the 'terms of the agreement which <br /> cover the tespective obligations of ,the parties including <br /> liability insurance requirements, hold harmless and indemnity <br /> requirements,termination provisions,etc. <br /> It is anticipated that Everett Transit will initially receive 3 <br /> buses under the agreement for which Boeing will pay. The City <br /> will be responsible,for the operational-costs aS9 ociated with <br /> the buses including the hiring of operators. The' initial <br /> allocation may change depending upon changes in circumstances. <br /> mstances. <br /> Since the City's the lead agency and es ett's <br /> a <br /> Responsible Official will oversee the ultimatea dispersal of all <br /> vehicles, the City will be required to accept vehicles from <br /> other agencies which are party to the agreement in the event <br /> they exercise their right of termination. Should this occur, <br /> the City will have to properly dispose of the buses. <br /> 0 <br />
