Chief Upton stated that the City limits will serve as <br /> a boundary and it is assumed that agreements with District 11 <br /> will be established for mutual response areas. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes except <br /> Councilman Overstreet who voted no. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> RESOLUTION-MONTE CRISTO <br /> Bill Cushman, Finance Director, reviewed the many attempts in <br /> the last 20 years to restore and renovate the Monte Cristo <br /> Hotel. He stressed the importance of the rehabilitation of the <br /> Hotel to the revitalization of the downtown core. <br /> Mr. Cushman explained the current issue with the investor <br /> market and that additional time is necessary to prepare the <br /> financial package to request a feasible interest rate. <br /> Financial suPDort is not being requested by the new proposed <br /> resolution, but the encouragement of viable alternative <br /> proposals for the public-private redevelopment of the Monte <br /> Cristo Is being asked for consideration. <br /> Councilman Pope noted that if the resolution is passed the City <br /> is committed to this project. <br /> Councilman Overstreet asked If the possibilities of other uses <br /> than affordable housing had been considered. <br /> Councilman Campbell questioned the rent structure as being <br /> affordable and available for lower income citizens. <br /> Jerk Rate,:21neaZ:feltileTund'invgd' repo <br /> rte <br /> d <br /> on the <br /> Marian' Krell,',5013 Elm'''Street, spoke in favor of the <br /> redevelopment of the Monte Cristo Hotel. <br />
