222 <br /> June 17,1992 <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> novpectl 4Jeysloto.ocnil4roem 3030 as kemnwd.e? by Councilman Diamond to <br /> WHEREAS, Snohomish County and its political subdivisions and <br /> transit agencies have participated in the Regional Transit <br /> Project and sent delegates and staff to serve the Joint <br /> Regional Policy Committee;and <br /> WHEREAS, the County and its political subdivisions and transit <br /> agencies have participated in the development of the Vision <br /> 2020 plan, which includes high capacity transit connecting the <br /> regional, sub-regional and metropolitan centers in the region; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Snohomish County representatives to the Joint <br /> Regional Policy Committee represent the County and its <br /> political subdivisions and transit agencies to that body;and <br /> siBie9EBE.AnS,intchlaudtrzhosVoshh.rj.xtcyouTz,reteentoaetrivveedsblyntgatch4t..Nve <br /> transit;and <br /> WHEREAS, the Snohomish County representatives intend that the <br /> high capacity transit system selected to be taken to the voters <br /> be the best, most cost effective system possible, and fully <br /> comply with he vision engendered in the Vision 2020 concept; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED: that in order to accomplish the <br /> goals and intentions of the Snohomish County representatives, <br /> and to ensure that they best serve the public trust, the <br /> Snohomish County representatives will require certain <br /> information,to wit: <br /> Thorough analysis of at least three alternative rail or <br /> busway alignments identified at this time as: <br /> 1) generally following I-3, <br /> 2) Generally following Nighway 99 <br /> 3) Generally following an alignment from downtown <br /> Everett to Boeing via Evergreen Way and Casino <br /> Road, then Al Alderwood Nall via Airport Road, <br /> Highway 99, 36th Avenue W,then to King County via <br /> Highymy 99 <br /> and thorough analysis of at least two phasing scenarios <br /> in addition to the basic scenario under study which <br /> constructs from Seattle outward,to wit: <br /> 1) Constructing simultaneously from Everett <br /> Southward and from Seattle Northward, also known <br /> as the"golden spike"approach, <br /> ( <br />
