483 <br /> December 23,1992 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT:that the City of Everett lends its full support and <br /> endorsement to the Library's application for grant funds under <br /> the:Library and Servites Construct.,Act-(LSCA),and the Mayor <br /> is authorized to execute all applications and grant contracts <br /> related thereto. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION-CRIMINAL JUSTICE FUNDING <br /> Moved by Councilman Moser, seconded by Councilman Anderson to <br /> adopt Resolution No. 37. supporting Criminal Justice <br /> assistance funding as follows: <br /> WHEREAS, The Washington State LegislatUre recognized•the need <br /> for additional funding support for local criminal.Justice <br /> agencies wheAct;n they enacted the City/County Criminal Justice <br /> Assistance and <br /> WHEREAS, the cities and towns have used the recently provided <br /> criminal justice assistance funds to improve the criminal <br /> justice system at the local level;and <br /> 7:= e ' 2i:t :'l;lmTtinu" to be <br /> advers <br /> e <br /> '' <br /> 1 crime,1uggginsarWHEREAS, all cities are not the same and urban cities have <br /> vastly different needs and resources then lesser populated <br /> cities and towns yet the citizenry expectations may be the <br /> same;and <br /> WHEREAS, many municipalities have exhausted their fiscal <br /> capacities and do not have adequate resources to meet the <br /> challenges of the increasing demand for criminal justice <br /> services;and <br /> WHEllEncet1;nd <br /> eprovisis nnof the additional criminal justice <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, that Moor Pete Kinch and the <br /> Everett City Council request that the Legislature continue the <br /> criminal justice assistance funding,including the authority <br /> 0 <br />
