He related <br /> the necessity of consumers to follow guidelines for maintenance <br />! of septic tanks which is an average of every 2-3 years. The <br /> cost is$255. <br /> Councilman Overstreet asked how septage dumpers make the <br /> distinction between city and non-city residents. Mr. Lowe <br /> answered that as far as he knew no distinction was made. <br /> Councilman Anderson compared sewer•rates and septage cleaning <br /> rates. ,' <br /> Troy Summers, 12,3 State Street, Marysville septage dumper, <br /> remarked that he understood an Increase in dumping fees was <br /> (-) <br /> necessary; however, favored a 1 cent increase as opposed no a <br /> 2.2 cent increase. <br /> Councilman Pope remarked that the increase was out of need not <br /> greed. <br /> Councilman Moser expressed concern about live-aboards in the <br /> yatch basin and where their sewage.was being disposed of. <br /> Councilman Overstreet questioned the number of septic tanks <br /> within city limits and since there are only a few he felt a <br /> distinction between city and non-city was not necessary. <br /> Moved by Councilman Overstreet,seconded by Councilmen Campbell <br /> so amend the resolution to striking the differential between <br /> in-city and out-of-city rates. <br /> Councilman Diamond spoke in opposition to the umndment as the <br /> City is providing a service for City residents. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes except <br /> Councilmen Moser,Pope,and Diamond who voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
