May I I,2000 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br />• <br /> m.,May 31,2000 in the City Council Chambers of the Everest City Hall, <br /> Vice President Simpson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Hansen and Councilmemben Simpson,Warnock.Gipson,and Pope were <br /> present.Councilmembers Anderson,Campbell and Overstreet were excused. <br /> Coutcilmember Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 24,2000 City Council meeting were approved as <br />• <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR • <br /> Mayor Hamen reported that he will be encoding Association of Washington <br /> Cities'meetings this weak regarding coon reform and the Endangered Species <br /> Act.He wished the Salty Sea Days Association well on their upcoming events. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> AIRPORT UPDATE <br /> Dave Waggoner,Director for the Snohomish County Airport,gave•brief <br /> overview of the airport's holding.staff,geographical statistics,business <br /> activities,and the construction of a safety area to alleviate concerns with the <br /> layout of the runways. <br /> Councih ember Pope questioned whether the airport collects leasehold taxa on <br /> their motels to private Eros.Dave Waggoner stated that they do. <br /> Couneilmemher Warnock gnestioned whether the airport's corporate rentals will <br /> increase over the next Use or ten years.Dave Waggoner stated that they will. <br /> • <br /> 223 <br />
