lone 14,2000 RESOLUTION-ORNAMENTAL STREET LIGHT POLES Moved by Couoeiimember Warnock, seconded by Councilmembcr Anderson to adopt Resolution No.4910 waiving the public bidding requirements and authorizing the sok source purchase of ornamental street light poles from Valley Iron and Steel Company for the amount of $49,500.00 as follows: WHEREAS,VISCO has worked extensively with the City of Everett over the put decade to develop and manufacture the•Everett^standard ornamental street light pole and base;and WHEREAS,when the standard was developed in 1995,VISCO was the only company in the mnhwest capable of manufacturing the necessary tooling required to build the historic light pole;and WHEREAS,the City of Everett has included Everett amemrntal street light poles in the Colby Avenue Improvement project from Everett Avenue to 26" Shot;and WHEREAS,the public bidding requirements need to be waived to authorize the • sole source acgcieidon of the historic light poles from VISCO; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that the public bidding requirements are hereby waived and the Purchasing Division is authorized to purchase the Everett ornamental street light poles from Valley Iron and Steel Company of Eugene,Oregon,for the Colby Avenue bnproveme0t project. Roll was called with all vouroilmembers voting yes. Motion carried.
