June 28,2000 <br /> I.Implement adopted plans and policies related to park improvements and non. <br /> motorised trail facilities;and <br /> 2.Provide a direct and safe connection to Iangus Riverfront Park;and <br /> 3.Allow the public to enjoy existing recreational facilities and aquatic resource <br /> lands on both Smith and Spencer Islands;and <br /> 4.Create greater comimily with existing and planned trail systems in Everett; <br /> and <br /> 5.Support previous investments that the City and County have made in <br /> recreational improvements in the vicinity;and <br /> 6.Encourage greater public contact with an understanding of the unique <br /> shoreline environmental resources in the Snohomish River delta. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT as follows: <br /> Section 1: <br /> 1. That the City Council of the City of Everts authorise Mayor Edward D. <br /> Harrier to make formal application to IAC for funding avismnce <br /> 2. That any fund assistance received is used for the planning and development <br /> of pedestrian and public access. <br /> 3. That the City of Everett Parks and Recreation mticipaRs its share of the <br /> project funding will be derived from general funding. <br /> 4. That the City of Everett Parks ad Recreation Department acknowledges <br /> that they miter support all non-cash commitments to the local share should <br /> they not materialize. <br /> 5. That the City of Everett Parks and Recreation Department acknowledges <br /> that any property acquired or facility developed with IAC financial aid must <br />
