October 4.2000 <br /> AGREEMENT—EVERITf PARKS FOUNDATION <br /> Moved by Couoelmember Simpson, seconded by Cauudmember <br /> Overstreet to authorize the Mayor to sign the 2001-2003 professional <br /> services agreement between the City of Everett and the Everett Parks <br /> Foundation in the amount of$70,000 per year for a total amount of <br /> $210,000.00. <br /> Councihnember Simpson recognized that this is a good partnership between the <br /> Parks Drpetment,Punks BO.and Parts Foundation.The.vireos of Evemn <br /> are benefiting from this partnership.He thanked Mayor Hansen,Bob Cooper, <br /> the City Council and the Parts Foundation. <br /> Pear Newland,President of the Everett Parks Foundation.urged approval of <br /> this agreement.He recognized Marian Krell and Marks Olson,board members, <br /> also in attendance. The playgrounds at Forest Park,Legion Park and Silver <br /> Lake Park were cited as successes of the Parks Foundation,as well as park <br /> enhancements,voluntarism,public awazemss,concessions,donor relations and <br /> administration. <br /> Mayor Hansen noted that this agreement has some change from the previous <br /> agreements and that the Foundation A launching into some new ventures. <br /> Peter explained that put of the growth Mater,is to continue expanding the <br /> work that the Foundation A doing into other areas of the City that might benefit <br /> as well. Orowth into the capacity of a community foundation A the goal.A <br /> wiunity foundation is a vehicle for endowments.This goal will he pursued <br /> thout diminishing what the Fouudatiov dots for the parks. <br /> Mayor Hansen thanked the Parks Foundation and staff for being a great team <br /> and a great promise for the future. <br /> Roll was called with all couocilmembers voting yes except Councilmemher Pope <br /> who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
