October 19.2000 <br /> Roll was called with all auncilmembers voting yes except Couocilmember <br /> Campbell who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> AGREEMENT-EMERGENCY RESPONSE EQUIPMENT <br /> Moved by Counegmember Pope,seconded by Conocilmember Anderson to <br /> authorize the Mayor to sign a distribution agreement for the State and Local <br /> Domestic Preparedness Equipment Support Program which will distribute <br /> specialized emergency reponse equipment to be used to deal with the threat <br /> of,or the aftermath of,a major weapons of mass destruction incident. <br /> Vice President Simpson requested an overview of the agreement.Police Chief <br /> Scharf stated that this grant funding became available through the Department of <br /> Emergency Management and will provide gas masks needed by the Police <br /> Department at no cost to the City. <br /> Roll was called with all auncilmembers voting yes except Councilmember <br /> Campbell who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Councilmembee Overstreet remarked that he arcaded a Snohomish Health <br /> District Committee mating earlier this week when.they discussed how they <br /> would manage a similar incident.He requened that a workshop be scheduled to <br /> discuss the coordination of efforts between Snohomish County and the City. <br /> AGREEMENT-SPECIALIZED EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT <br /> Moved by Couneihnember Andermn,seconded by Couneomsmber Pope to <br /> authorize the Mayor to sign m agreement with Snohomish County to <br /> receive specialized emergency equipment through the State and Local <br /> Domestic Preparedness Equipment Support Program. <br /> 452 <br />
