January 17,2001 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was edied to order at]:00 <br /> p.m.,January 17,2001 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Simpson presiding.Upon roil call it was found that Councilmembers <br /> Anderson,Simpson,Gipson,Pope,and Overstreet were prdent. Mayor <br /> Hansen and Councilmembem Warnock and Campbell were excused. <br /> Councilmember Anderson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 10,2001 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> CAA Langur announced that there will be presentations next week regarding the <br /> special events center;an open house on January 23,2001,6 p.m.to 8:30 p.m., <br /> in the City Council Chambers and a public hearing on the consultant's feasibility <br /> study at the City Council meeting on January 24,2001.There will also be an <br /> open hoose on January 24,2001,5 p.m.to 9 p.m.,at the Everett Performing <br /> Arts Cater regarding the I-5 Interchange and Corridor Access Study. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Councilmember Overstreet commented on the blackouts in California and <br /> questioned whether it would be appropriate to discuss the procedures to follow <br /> if it should happen here.He reported that he attended a forum at the Everett <br /> Community College regarding violence in the workplace. <br /> Councilmember Gipson stared that he attended several Martin Luther Ring <br /> celebrations. He commended Park staff for filming the event at the Naval <br /> Station and the Police Department for assisting with the march through town. <br />
