Much 28,2001 <br /> An Everett City Council Citizens Pmum meeting was called to order H 1:15 p.m, <br /> March 28,2001 at the Everett Mall,1402 SE Everett Mall Way,President <br /> Simpson presiding.Mayor Hauer,Councilmembets Simpaaq Wmnook Gipson, <br /> Camphell,Pope and Overstreet were present Coandlmember Anderson was <br /> excused. <br /> President Simpson ivhoduced Mayor Hansen and the city council members and <br /> explained that this was the first of four citizens forums to be conducted this year. <br /> The puryose efthe forums is for city council members to hear citizens concerns in <br /> an informal setting. <br /> President Simpson thanked Linda Johads,Everett Mall,for providing the space <br /> and refreshments for the forum. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Kalli Trosvig,908 Grand Avenue,requested speed bumps in the vicinity of Grand <br /> and Alvemon.She cited speeding cam and safety as the reason for her request. <br /> Sidewalks are immediately adjacent to the street therefore pedestrians are very <br /> vulnerable, <br /> Mike Warfield,640 Alvmson Boulevard,was also in favor of speed bumps.He <br /> sated that throe are many walkers and runners in the area He explained that a <br /> traffic study had been done and the average speed was over 30 miles per how. <br /> The neighborhood is in support of speed bumps as a first choice and Hop signs as <br /> second choice.He retroed that recent rom4uction in the area has decreased <br /> traffic by half. <br /> Nancy Hecht,1330 Lombard,voiced concern regarding trash and the appeamvice <br /> of North Everett along Broadway.She suggested planters in front of businesses <br /> and Hated that the businesses would be wiling to maintain them. She also <br /> questioned if something could he done about the motels in the area. <br /> Jeanne Wahl,1325 Lombard,spoke about criminal activity in the North Everett <br /> motels,specifically,drug related activity and prostitution.
