May9,2001 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m., <br /> May 9,2001,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hell,President <br /> Simpson presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Councimembos Ande sav, <br /> Simpson,Warnock Gipson,Campbell,Pape and Overstreet were present Mayor <br /> Haven was excused. <br /> Clair Oliver,Public Works Director,led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 2,2001 City Council meeting were approved as printed. <br /> Councilmanber Pope abstained from the vote. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Councibnunber Campbell explained that he will not be in attendance next week <br /> due to surgery. <br /> Councilmmber Pope reported that he attended a meeting sponsored by the <br /> Federal Highway Administration regarding Me Transportation Quality Act <br /> Smaller cities and rural areas see not receiving T-21 money as the larger cities are. <br /> They discussed a change in the law.Washington State has been a leader in the <br /> implementation of the distribution of the money.A recommendation was made <br /> that other cities should follow the example of Washington State.Any change <br /> should not affect the City of Everett The Federal Highway Administration paid <br /> his expenses for attending the meeting. <br /> Councilmmbes Warnock reported that he amended the Waterfront Renaissance <br /> meeting sponsored by the Herald. Slides were shown of various watafro to <br /> throughout the country.He also attended the annual Arts Council of Snohomish <br /> County dinner where a review of their past and future projects end events was <br /> presented An emphasis will be made t0 include children in different facets of at <br /> Ralph Mackey,Senior Center,explained how the Everett Senior Center has <br /> stepped up to help other senior centro in Snohomish County with food service, <br /> The Everett Sada Center provides the warehousing and serrice to service <br /> Starwood Senior Center,Stillaguamiah Senior Center,Edmonds Senior Cmta, <br /> Quite Falls Senior Center,Dar ingmn Senior Center,the Adult Health Carter <br /> on 128th,Compass Health and Bakerview.Over 30,000 meals were served at the <br /> 165 <br />
