Jena 13,2001 <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett adopted Ordinance No.1355-87(emended 1956- <br /> 95)authorizing the Eveatt Historical Commission to coesda the merits of <br /> properties for placement on the Everett Register of Historic Places and to <br /> recommend to City Council that properties be placed on the Everett Register. <br /> WHEREAS,the owners of the Blackman House requested the Everett Historical <br /> Commission to consider the House for inclusion in the Everett Regina of <br /> Historic Places. <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett Historical Comminion reviewed the request end at a <br /> public hearing determined that the Blackman House meets the Everett Register <br /> Criteria. <br /> • Embodies distinctive architectural characteristics of a type,period and <br /> style ofemutractioa <br /> • Esenplifies special elements of the City's cultural,economic and <br /> architectural history. <br /> • Is associated with the lives of poisons significant to local history. <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett Historical Commission found the renovation and <br /> restoration work accomplished by the owns to be consist.with the Sememry <br /> of Interior Standards for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Historic Properties. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 3.The Everett City Council concurs with the Everett Historical Commission <br /> recommendation to place the Bickmen House an the Everett Register of <br /> Historical Places. <br /> 4.The Everett City <br /> Coancil places the Blackman House on the Everett <br /> Register of Historic Place. <br /> Roll was called with all coweihnembers voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 219 <br />
