September 19,2001 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Hansen read a proclamation recognizing September 19,2001 as"Race <br /> Equality Day"in the City of Everett. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Councilmembei Campbell commended the Administration and the <br /> uncilm®hra for keeping a tight reign on the City's budget so that it will not <br /> be adversely affected by the projected Boeing layoffs. <br /> Couacimember Wamock reported that he spent a day installing playgroued <br /> equipment at Wiggums Park. He stated that he presented the Metropolitan, <br /> Sewage Association Gold Award to the employee of the Utilities Depaemeat's <br /> Sewer Division fora perfect word for 12 consecutive months for thew reports to <br /> the Department of Ecology. <br /> Councihnembers Pope and Gipson rummended the Sewer Division for the work <br /> that they do. <br /> Couucihuember Overstreet thanked the Parks Department and other volunteers for <br /> their worker Wigguma Park. <br /> Councimerabee Anderson stated that he attended the amus)comentlon of the <br /> Alliance of the M®tally BI on Friday where they discussed youth with mental <br /> illness. He also attended an event at Legion Park honoring the City's many <br /> volmteem. <br /> PRESIDENT <br /> President Simpson thanked all of those who pmticipated in the meruariat <br /> held at the Snohomish County Courthouse yesterday for the victims efamilies <br /> service <br /> of the terrorist acts in New York City. <br />
