October 31,2001
surprise as illustrated by Bill Cushman's chart, which depicts the peaks and
valleys of Boeing's aircraft deliveries in Washington Slate since 1960:
BOEING OEIISERIES:1000•2001
Boa
soo
aroarc !V1
WAWAI WARM
mr,
1603 10315 1972 1075 1078 1801 1084 1003 1993 1900 1000
Boeing is now experiencing another decline, which seem to occur every ten
years or so. Although the Boeing situation is not encouraging at the present
time, there are possible alternatives under which Boeing could increase
production in Everett at some time in the triton, including:a military contract
for l67 cargo planes;the transfer of other production work to Everett;and the
possibility of assembling a new product, the 'sonic cruiser. City
administration and staff worked closely with Boeing over the yearn and will
continue to do so in t e future. Boeing now bas all City permits needed to
increase employment in Everett to 35,000.
4l9
