January 23,2002 <br /> COUNCIL BILL NO.02-01-79 <br /> THIRD AND FINAL READING' <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to unlawful race attendance,adding a <br /> new chapter to the Everett Traffic Code,Title 48 of the Everett <br /> Municipal Code. <br /> City Attomey Saint stated that the City Council has received a revised <br /> proposed ordinance that includes technical revisions. <br /> Moved by Council Member Pope,seconded by Council Member Hattot <br /> that this is declared to be the third and final reading of Council Bill No.02- <br /> 01-79 as revised. <br /> The following citizens voiced concerns regarding the proposed ordinance: <br /> Lars Otterson,3113 Ice Place E <br /> NW:Andy Johnson,4005 Grand Aenued <br /> ;Roe nR imer,r,,1416HewittAvenue;Chris Harwood,13002 545 Avenue SE;Shallene Carter,14730 <br /> 60 Avenue SE;Tyler Bailey,3827 106.Street SE;Jayson Baum,10629 <br /> 275 Drive SE;Michael Mayther,7114 HigNand Drive;and Al Furiak,6312 <br /> Cypress Street.Their issues of concern related to the right to assemble <br /> and profiling.They requested that the vote be postponed so they could <br /> bring forth a legal solution.A draft proposal with respect to implementing <br /> a successful street racing program was submitted to the Council. <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Overstreet to amend Me proposed ordinance adding the words In a <br /> public place"to the end of the last sentence in Section 1 B of the <br /> proposed ordinance. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carded. <br /> JI <br /> l_ <br />
