July 9,2003 <br /> • <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> m.,July 9,2003.in the City Council Chamber of the Everett City Hall, <br /> Vice President Campbell presiding.Upon roll call It was found that Mayor <br /> Anderson and Council Members Krell,Olson,Gipson,Campbell,Pope <br /> and Overstreet were present.Council President Ha0oe wee excused. <br /> Council Member Pope led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 2,2003 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Anderson stated that the City of Everett is working with the <br /> Washington State Ferry System to continue to provide ase s t0 <br /> Edgewater Beach. Until a formal agreement is reached,the Parks <br /> Department will open the gate from 8 a.m.to 10 p.m.daily. <br /> INTERNAL COMMUNITY EVENTS TASK FORCE <br /> The Mayor announced that he is forming an internal Community Events <br /> Task Force to determine the comunitys interest in establishing an <br /> Events and Festivals Committee in the City of Everett. The committee <br /> would collaborate with event and festival planners to share resources, <br /> seek sponsorship,and build support for the events. <br /> • <br /> Mayor Anderson commented on the success of the 4e of Jull events. <br /> • <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Gipson commended the Mayor for the City's conidbution <br /> of$8,000.00 to the 4"of July fireworks display. <br /> • <br /> Council Member Olson commented on the Importance of keeping • <br /> Edgewater Beach open to the public. <br /> • <br /> 215 <br />
