• August 20,2003 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 7:00 <br /> p.m.,August 20.2003.in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,Vice President Campbell presiding.Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Anderson and Council Members Krell,Olson,Gipson,Campbell, <br /> Pope and Overstreet were present.Council Member Hatloe was excused. <br /> Vice President Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 13,2003 City Council meeting were approved <br /> as panted. <br />• <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Anderson announced that the U.S.Department of Defense has <br /> chosen Adak,Alaska for the location of the SBX. He commended all <br /> those who participated in the effort to keep it from being homeported in <br /> Everett. <br /> The Mayor stated that the State Auditors office has completed its audit of <br /> the City of Everett.Their report shows no findings for the seventh straight <br />• year. <br /> GRANT AWARD <br /> Mayor Anderson announced that the City of Everett has been awarded a <br /> $500,000 grant from the U.S.Department of Justice to be used to <br /> continue the City's commitment to the strong enforcement of domestic <br /> violence laws. <br /> PARKING UPDATE <br /> Wayne Wentz,Traffic Engineering,gave a brief update regarding efforts <br /> to ease the impacts of Everett High School students parking in front of <br /> businesses on the 2500 and 2800 blocks of Colby. <br />• <br /> 289 <br />
