October15,2003 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 7,00 p.m.,October 15,2003,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,President Hatloe presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Anderson and Council Members Krell,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson, Campbell,Pope.and Overstreet were present. Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the October 8.2003 City Council were approved as printed. MAA YOR Mayor Anderson proclaimed the week of October 20 through October 24, 2003 as"Business and Professional Women's Week.' He stated that he attended a reception for donors of the Japanese Garden at the Nippon Business Institute located at Everett Community College. The Mayor remarked that Senator Jim Hem visited the City of Everett to tour its freight mobility projects. Mayor Anderson announced that City Attorney Soine received a"boss of the year 2003"award from the Snohomish County Chapter of the National Association of Legal and Support Professionals. He stated that he attended a meeting of the public space committee at the Everett Performing Ads Center. He mad a statement commending the members of the committee and directing the City of Everett's Department of Economic Development and Planning Department to consider the work of this committee in the context of the revitalization of downtown Everett. Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member Overstreet to adopt Resolution No.5391 concerning the Downtown Open Spaces Committee.
