February 18,2004 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed February 21,2004 as"Bernie Webber <br /> Day'.Ha presented the proclamation to Mr.Webber. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Krell stated that she and Mayor Stephenson attended the <br /> Volunteer Appreciation Night at the Senior Center, <br /> Ralph Mackey,Senior Center,remarked that there were 175 indtotduals <br /> recognized at the Senior Center's Volunteer Appreciation Night and that <br /> they conhibuted over 17,000 hours to the center. <br /> Council Member Overstreet stated that the.Puget Sound Regional Council <br /> is working on an update to their Vision 20/20 Plan.He Invited everyone to <br /> attend a meeting which will be held at the Everett Public Library on <br /> February 23,2004,5 p.m.to 8 p.m. <br /> Council Member Olson commented that this is the last night meeting <br /> scheduled during the three-month trial period. He requested that the <br /> issue be placed on the February 25,2004 agenda so that the City Council <br /> can evaluate the impact that the additional night meetings have had on <br /> public participation and operational costs;and that in the Interim,staff be <br /> directed to prepare an evaluation of the public participation during the last <br /> three months and the costs incurred. <br /> Council Member Campbell reported on his attendanm at the Govemment <br /> Affairs Committee meeting. <br /> Council Member Gipson distributed a"request for banking services draft <br /> to the council members for comment It will be included on neat week's <br /> City Council agenda. <br /> He requested a special meeting on February 24.2004 to discuss <br /> attendance and costs for night meetings so that the Budget and Finance <br /> Committee can make a recommendation either for or against continuing <br /> the additional night meetings at next week's council memory. <br /> 49 <br />
