July28,2004 <br /> AGREEMENT—NATIONAL NIGHT OUT <br /> Moved by Council Member Krell,seconded by Council Member Olson <br /> to authorize the Mayor to sign a hold harmless agreement with <br /> Steadfast Everett Mall to allow a National Night Out event to be held <br /> In the Everett Mall parking lot an August 3,2004,4 p.m.to 10 p.m. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION—BALLOT PROPOSITION/SALES TAX INCREASE <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Campbell to adopt Resolution No.5509 as amended authorizing the <br /> submission of a ballot proposition for an additional sales and use <br /> tax of three,tenths of one percent(0.3%)to preserve and expand <br /> transit services and for other matters properly related thereto.' <br /> `This motion reflects inclusion of updated materials. <br /> Paul Kaftanski,Trenspartatbn Services,gave a brief slide presentation <br /> regarding an on-going financial and operational assessment of Everett <br /> Transit. <br /> Donald Robbers,2123 State Street 01,expressed concern regarding the <br /> placement of the proposition on the primary ballot in September rather <br /> then the general ballot in November.He remarked that individuals who do <br /> not wish to declare a party for the primary will not vote on the issue. <br /> Don Shagam,Amalgated Transit Union,stated that In California.non- <br /> partisan <br /> ompartisan ballots am sent out to those who do not wish to dedare a pert' <br /> so they can vote on non-partisan Issues. <br /> 241 <br />
