Over the past several years,Code <br /> Compliance staff has worked 04th residents,neighborhood associations <br /> and public service agencies to improve property maintenance In our city. <br /> Atter lest spring's staff reduction,it became apparent that we needed an <br /> additional person to provide the level of service our Council end residents <br /> have come to expect.We are proposing to restore one full-time position <br /> to the City's Code Compliance staff. <br /> PARTNERSHIPS for COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> When we partner with other public agencies and the private sector, <br /> everyone wins.As we pool our resources,we leverage our ability help our <br /> community. <br /> Everett,in partnership with Snohomish County and the Department of <br /> Housing and Urban Development,has made funding available for a <br /> umber of projects. Through our Community Housing Improvement <br /> Program,also known as CHIP,we provide loans to individuals for housing <br /> Improvements. CHIP and other projects represent a community <br /> nstment of more than$515,000 in 2004. <br /> In 2005 we will be partnering with Habitat for Humanity,Interfaith <br /> Association,Senior Services of Snohomish County,Housing Hope, <br /> Snohomish County Weatherizeton,and Senior Safety Smoke Alarms to <br /> carry out various community projects.Together,these profs represent <br /> a public investment of more then$4 million to improve housing In Everett. <br /> 339 <br />
