March 23,2005 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett Coy Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,March 23,2005 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Krell presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson;Council Members Krell,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson.Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher and Overstreet were present. <br /> Council Member Hatloe led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the March 16,2005 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson reported that the show of support for community <br /> development block grant funding is still a major concern of the city as the <br /> funding is being targeted at the federal level. <br /> He acknowledged a group of vlsiling German students from the Berlin <br /> area at today's city council meeting. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Overstreet reported on his attendance at the National <br /> League of Cities Conference held in Washington D.C."Economic vitality° <br /> and Integrated communities"were topics of discussion.He reported that <br /> a umber combined sewer overflow issues have legal Implications that will <br /> need to be addressed. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Victor Paul,1501 Cedar Street.brought forth a concern regarding <br /> security,as he had been robbed during the past week. He requested <br /> more power for police officers and community policing. <br /> 75 <br />
