March 23,2005 <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—PUD REQUEST <br /> President Krell opened a public hearing regarding a proposed resolution <br /> to amend the Comprehensive Plan from Single Family(1.2)to Public <br /> Quasi Public Facilities(2.8),rezone the property from R-1 to R-1-I <br /> (Institution)and void Special Property Use Penna a16-84. <br /> Bob Larsen,Planning,explained that the PUD has requested this <br /> amendment to the Comprehensive Plan tar their switching yard which is <br /> located east of Beverly Boulevard at 75.Street.The neighborhood has <br /> asked for improvements to the visual screen. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding a problem with garbage on the site. <br /> John Lewis,PUO,stated that there are transients that come onto the <br />• properly.The PUD did buy property from Puget Sound Energy. Puget <br /> Sound Energy still owns lot 1 of the parcel.The PUD now understands <br /> the conditions on the properly and will abide by any conditions. <br /> Moved by Council Member Nielsen,seconded by Council MemberI <br /> Overstreet to close the public hearing. <br /> Roll was <br /> called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> MemberHatloe who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION—PUG REQUEST <br /> Moved by Council Member Nielsen,seconded by Council Member <br /> Overstreet to adopt Resolution No. 5604 approving: (1) an <br /> amendment to the Comprehensive Plan Map designation from Single <br /> Family(1.2)to Public Quasi Public Facilities(2.8);(2)a rezone from <br /> R-1(Single Family)to R-1-I(institutional)Zone;and(3)that the <br /> existing Special Property Use Permit(#16-84)be voided upon City <br /> Council passage of the necessary Comprehensive Plan and rezone <br /> 89 <br />
