r' <br /> June 29,2005 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,June 29,2005 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Krell presiding. Upon roll cell It was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Krell,Olson,Hake,Gipson,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher and Overstreet were present. <br /> Mayor Stephenson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the June 20,2005 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed.Council Members Gipson and Overstreet abstained <br /> from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson reported that he participated in two events over the <br /> weekend;the American Cancer Society Weekend Walk and the Get <br /> Moving Campaign. <br /> AWARD <br /> Tam Thetford,Public Works,presented an award to a team who worked <br /> on the Transmission Line emergency project.Jennifer Galatas,city staff; <br /> Mike Johns,Advanced American Diving;and Cecil Ohrich,URS,received <br /> the award from the American Society df Civil Engineers. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Olson reported on his attendance at the annual meeting <br /> of the Association of Washington Cities held in the TO Cities. Topics <br /> regarding economic development,diversity,demographics and density, <br /> and the health carewere discussed. The City of Everett also <br /> received recognition for diversity efforts during the past year. <br /> He also reported that Council Member Overstreet received recognition at <br /> the conference for leadership. Council Member Overstreet received an <br /> Advanced Certificate In Municipal Leadership. <br /> 192 <br />
