December 21,2005 <br /> AYES: Krell.Olson.Hetice,Gipson.Nielsen,Stonecipher, <br /> NAYS: None <br /> EXCUSED:Overstreet <br /> Ordinance Ne.2892.05 adopted. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—VACATIONIROCKEFELLER AVENUE <br /> President Krell continued a public hearing regarding the proposed <br /> vacation of Rockefeller Avenue and the alley lying east of Rockefeller <br /> Avenue between it and 14.Streets. <br /> Mike Palacios,Real Property,gave a brief history and overview of the <br /> proposed vacation. He stated that as compensation for the proposed <br /> vacation,it is recommended that the hospital(1)exchange with the City of <br /> Everett,the property located just north of 13 Street between Colby and <br /> Hoyt Avenues fora portion of the proposed street and alley to be vacated. <br /> and(2)that the petitioner pay the City in monetary consideration the <br /> difference in value between the exchange property and the vacated rights- <br /> of-way. <br /> Brad Cattle. Anderson Hunter, 2707 Colby, outside counsel for <br /> Providence Everett Medical Center.suggested that for clarification <br /> purposes the verbiage"until such time as the utilities are relocated"be <br /> added to item no.3 of the staff recommenoetions which slate that'an <br /> easement be retained for utilities'. <br /> President Krell Invited public comment. <br /> Kristine Stothers,1305 Oakes Avenue,expressed concem regarding the <br /> traffic and parking effects that will be created by the vacation of <br /> Rockefeller Avenue and the eventual destruction of the parking garage. <br /> Council Member Gipson questioned whether the City of Everett could look <br /> into more permit parking for the area. <br /> CAA Crawford stated that he would have Traffic Engineering look at the <br /> issue and make some recommendations. <br /> 431 <br />
