March 8,2006 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,March 8,2006 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson;Council Members Roberts,Olson,Gipson,Nielsen,and <br /> Stonecipher were present.Council Members Hadoe and Overstreet were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Nielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the March 1,2006 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson thanked the Police and Fire Departments for an <br /> incredible job Monday relating to a shooting incident <br /> Police Chief Scharf,Deputy Police Chief Burke and Fire Chief Gordon <br /> credited their departments.training and a cooperative coordinated effort <br /> between the police department and fire department in dealing with the <br /> situation. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Members Nielsen and Stonecipher echoed thanks the Police and <br /> Fire Departments. <br /> Council Member Roberts commented that the National League of Cities <br /> Conference is in Washington D.C.this week which he will be attending. <br /> He encouraged others to talk to legislators who have been supportive of <br /> the community development bock grant program funding that has been <br /> challenged at the federal level. <br /> 59 <br />
