a <br /> April 5,2006 <br /> Council Member Nielsen introduced a proposed resolution declaring an <br /> emergency and authorizing the Mayor and Parks Department to proceed <br /> with contracting for repairs at the Forest Park Swim Center. <br /> Susan Francisco,Parks,spoke regarding the need to proceed with repairs <br /> at the swim center as soon as possible. <br /> RESOLUTION—REPAIRS/FOREST PARK SWIM CENTER <br /> Moved by Council Member Nielsen,seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts to adopt Resolution No.5749 declaring an emergency and <br /> authorizing the Mayor and Parks Department to procee1 with <br /> contracting with a construction firm to carry out construction repairs <br /> at the Forest park Swim Center so as to prevent further damage from <br /> weather and to allow It to open in a timely manner for the summer <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Members Gipson and Stonecipher who were excused. <br /> Motion carded. <br /> Council Member Roberts reported on his attendance at a Puget Sound <br /> Clean Air Agency meeting,a conference sponsored by Northwest <br /> Securities,and a Globe 2006 Conference. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Marilyn Rosenberg,Zippys Java Lounge, 1804 Hewitt,expressed <br /> anm regarding crime and drug activity In the area around her business <br /> and the lack of parking. <br /> 90 <br />
