August 16.2006 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> p.m..August 16,2006,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call It was found that <br /> Mayor Stephenson and Council Members Olson,Gipson,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher.and Overstreet were presenL Council Members Roberts <br /> and Hatloe were excused. <br /> Council Member Nielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 9,2006 City Council were approved as printed. <br /> Council Members Overstreet and Stonecipher abstained from the vote. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Overstreet stated that the Library Board met lest night. <br /> He remarked that they accepted a Job description for Library Director and <br /> gave a timeline for the application process. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attomey Johnston requested an ecutive session regarding a <br /> litigation matter. The session Is expected to last approximately five <br /> minutes with no anticipated announcement to follow. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Mark Nagel,631 Colby Avenue,spoke briefly regarding the USS Shoup's <br /> namesake,David M.Shoup. <br /> Ron Hanson,3819 High Street,expressed concern regarding the <br /> amended tow ordinance which was passed at the August 9.2006 City <br /> council meeting.He stated that it is contrary to Washington State Law. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher requested that staff provide a report <br /> regarding this matter at next week's City council meeting. <br /> 254 <br />
