November 1,2006 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed November, 2006 as Veterans <br /> Remembrance Month." <br /> REPORT—SIGNALIZATION <br /> Ryan Sass,Engineering,dismissed traffic signal timing;how It was done <br /> in the past,how it is done today,and the City's goals and plane for 2007. <br /> He introduced Dangho Chang,the City of Everett's new Traffic Engineer. <br /> 2007 BUDGET MESSAGE <br /> Everett residents, <br /> Council President Stonecipher, <br /> Members of the City Council <br /> and Oty employees <br /> I am pleased to present the 2007 operating budget for your consideration. <br /> This balanced budget dentines strategic investments in our community <br /> and City workforce while maintaining a conservative approach to financial <br /> management <br /> The total City budget is$936 million,which Indudes$107 million for <br /> general government operations.Highlights Include Increased funding for <br /> financial reserves,city infrastructure,parks,public safety and technology. <br /> The City is now n a position of financial strength with general govemment <br /> revenue projected to be up seven percent over 2006.The 2007 balanced <br /> budget reflects a disciplined operating philosophy,maintenance of the <br /> rainy day fond and the fund-balance reserve as well as investments In city <br /> infrastructure.
