January 31,2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m..January 31,2007 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephanson,Council Members Roberts,Olson.Hattae,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,Stonecipher and Overstreet were present. <br /> Council Member Hatice led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 24,2007 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed.Council Member Gipson abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION—CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION <br /> MONT <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed February,2007,as Career and Technical <br /> Education Month. Ha presented the proclamation to Carl Fender who <br /> accepted in it on behalf of Superintendent Carol Whitehead,Everett <br /> School District. <br /> RETIREMENT <br /> Police Chief Scharf announced that Deputy Chief Jim Seaman will be <br /> retiring for the second time after coming back to the city to serve as <br /> Deputy Chief.He will be missed as a friend,mentor,true leader and a <br /> police officer. <br /> Deputy Chief Seaman said that he has enjoyed working for the City of <br /> Everett for thirty two years and the last 2'k years have been a highlight <br /> for him.He thanked the city council and mayor for the opportunity to work <br /> with them and the support they give the Everett Police Department. <br /> COUNCII <br /> Council Member Olson commented that he and Council Member Gipson <br /> attended the National League of Cities Leadership Institute seminar on <br /> 31 <br />
