April 18,2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> p.m..April 18,2007.1n the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson.Nielsen,Stonecipher <br /> and Overstreet were present.Council Members Hake and Gipson were <br /> excused. <br /> Mayor Stephenson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 11,2007 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson remarked that the City's Second Annual Diversity <br /> Expo was held on April 11,2007. He stated that over 100 business <br /> owners attended and thanked Karen Shaw for coordinating the event. <br /> He announced that Earth Day is April 22,2007,and in recognition,Everett <br /> Transit will have a free fare day this Sunday. <br /> 2007 MAYOR'S YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS <br /> Mayor Stephenson introduced Kate Reardon,Public Information Director, <br /> and thanked Joel Starr who held a reception for family members and <br /> award winners at the Flying Pig. <br /> Kate Reardon announced the winners of the 18°Annual Mayor's Youth <br /> Achievement Awards: Charlie Dire,age 18.Archbishop Murphy High <br /> School;Lauren Bennett,age 17,Henry Jackson High School;Jaspreet <br /> Gill,age 18,Henry Jackson High School;lan Dawe,age 16,Everett High <br /> School;Cole Anderson,age 18,Everett High School;Maggie Burton, <br /> Council Member Overstreet's granddaughter,age 16,Everett High <br /> School;Stacey Thompson,age 17,Center far Career Alternatives;Maya <br /> Thompson,age 17,Everett High School;Erika Hornyak,age 18,Everett <br /> High School;and Cody Schroeder,age 17,Mariner High School.Marree <br /> Perrault,Administration,presented them with their awards. <br /> 120 <br />
