April 25,2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to onder at 8:30 <br /> a.m,,April25,2007 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Stonecipher presiding.Upon roll call It was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,and Stonecipher were present.Council Member Overstreet was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 18,200]City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed.Council Members Hallow and Gipson abstained from the vole. <br /> MAYOR <br /> LEGISLATIVE UPDATE <br /> Pat McClain.Governmental Affairs,spoke regarding the accomplishments <br /> of the Washington State Legislature which recently adjoumed.He stated <br /> that they included$400,000.00 for the City's Senior Center remodel, <br /> $199,000.00 for the Marshland study,an increase in law enforcement <br /> academy funding,streamlined sales tax,new local option funding tools for <br /> roadways,domestic violence no contact order,single ballot dual majority <br /> for RTID.local infrastructure financing,increase in LIFT financing.end <br /> auto theft. He thanked the members of the Govemmental Affairs <br /> Committee and Doug Levy for their hand work. <br /> Mayor Stephenson commented on the Legislature's decision to fund a <br /> University of Washington branch in Snohomish County. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts distributed University of Washington ball caps to <br /> the coundl members to send a message that the City of Everett wants the <br /> branch campus to be located in Everett.He thanked all of the legislators <br /> who were involved. <br /> 130 <br />
