April 25.2007 <br /> STREET CLOSURE—TAILGATE PARTIES <br /> Consider a request by the Everett Hawks to close Oakes Avenue north of <br /> Hewitt Avenue and south of the Fire Station for tailgate parties on eight <br /> game days with the condition that all food be prepared off-ske,that any <br /> heating devices be approved by the Fire Marshall,and that street closure <br /> signage be provided per MIJTCD standards. <br /> Bill Vance,on behalf of the Everett Hawks,2213 Everett Avenue,stated <br /> that the purpose of the proposed tailgate parties Is to extend their fan's <br /> experience and fan base. <br /> Joel Stan,2929 Colby,spoke in support of the proposed street closure. <br /> He questioned what the ce ncil members would consider and what <br /> reservations he could help remove. <br /> The council members expressed the following concerns regarding the <br /> proposed street closure;frequency of the event,setting a precedent,the <br /> need to close public right-of-way,and the impact of food vendors.They <br /> choose not to consider the proposal as presented. <br /> COUNCIL BILL NO.070417 <br /> THIRD AND FINAL READING: <br /> AN ORDINANCE approving the appropriations of the 2007 <br /> revised City of Everett budget and amending Ordinance No. <br /> 2954-06 <br /> Moved by Council Member Nielsen,seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts that this is declared to be the third and final reading of Council Bill <br /> No.070417 and the City Clerk is directed to call the mil for the final <br /> dispos'on of the ordinance. <br /> 133 <br />
