May 2.2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m..May 2,2007 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Stonecipher presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson.Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson,Nielsen. <br /> Stonecipher,and Overstreet were present. <br /> Mayor Stephenson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 25,2007 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Member Overstreet abstained from the <br /> vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed the week of May 8-12,2007 as'Be Kind <br /> To Anima'-Week'. PJ Ryan,Vice President,Animal Shelter Board, <br /> accepted the proclamation. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed the month of May as'Older Americans <br /> Month°. <br /> Deborah Wright,Neighborhoods and Community Services.explained that <br /> the Older Americans Month theme is'Making Choices fora Healthier <br /> Future'which has inspired a table tennis program kick off on May 7th. <br /> Council Member Olson has agreed to make the first serve.A grant has <br /> made it possible for the Senior Center to provide table tennis sessions. <br /> George Brown,Senior Center Advisory Board,accepted the proclamation <br /> and thanked the mayor and city council for their continued support and <br /> work on behalf of the seniors.Several seniors were also in attendance. <br /> 141 <br />
