May 2.2007 <br /> COUNCIL BILL NO.0612-74 <br /> THIRD AND FINAL READING: <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 2003 edition <br /> of the International Fire Code,as amended by the Washington <br /> State Building Code Council in Chapter 51-54 of the <br /> Washington Administrative Code and repealing Ordinance No. <br /> 2360.99,Sections 1 through 12 <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member Hatloe <br /> that this is declared to be the third and final reading of Council Bill No. <br /> 0612-74. <br /> Council Member Gipson had questions regarding being able to change <br /> setbacks and historical buildings. <br /> Rick Robinson,Fire,answered that the Fire Department works closely <br /> with the Planning Department on these decisions. Laura Van Slyck <br /> further explained how this code relates to state standards and that there is <br /> an appeal process available to property owners. <br /> Council Member Olson voiced that a summary of the changes would be <br /> helpful. <br /> Council Member Nielsen stated that he was reassured by staff that this <br /> ordinance will have the flexibility to address life safety issues in relation to <br /> historic buildings. <br /> Jim lies.CPA,clarified that revisions were sent to council members earlier <br /> this week. <br /> The City Clerk was directed to call the roll for the final disposition of the <br /> ordinance as revised. <br /> 146 <br />
