May 16.2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m..May 16,2007 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall. <br /> President Stonecipher presiding. Upon mil call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Hag,Nielsen.Stonecipher, <br /> and Overstreet were present.Council Members Olson and Gipson were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Nielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 9,2007 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed May 20 through May 26,2007 as"National <br /> Public Works Week.. He presented the proclamation to Tom Thetford, <br /> Public Works and asked him to thank all of the employees who manage <br /> the City's water,sewer,solid waste,streets and surface water protection. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed May 18,2007 as"Bike to Work Day."He <br /> presented the proclamation to Council Member Nielsen. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts reported that he attended a luncheon with <br /> Governor Gregoire at Pilchuck-Marysville High School where she came to <br /> discuss education issues.He commended the Public Works employees <br /> for a job well done. <br /> Council Member Overstreet announced that two of his grandsons along <br /> with Council President Stoneciphers son have been elected as student <br /> body officers at North Middle School.
