May 23,2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,May 23,2007 in the City Coundl Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Stonecipher presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Council <br /> Members Roberts,Olson,Gipson,Nielsen,Stonecipher and Overstreet <br /> re present. Mayor Stephenson and Council Member Hatloe were <br /> excused. <br /> Deb Williams,City Council Administrative Coordinator,led the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 16,2007 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed.Council Members Olson and Gipson abstained from <br /> the vote. <br /> OUNCIL <br /> President Stonecipher reported that Mayor Stephenson is in Washington <br /> D.C.with regard to city business. <br />• <br /> Council Members Roberts,Overstreet,Nielsen and Stonecipher thanked <br /> Deb Williams and Council Member Gipson for all their hard work in <br /> coordinating the National League of Cities FAIR Committee meeting held <br /> this past week in the city of Everett. <br /> Council Member Overstreet announced that he will miss the next three <br /> city council meetings as he will be in England an vacation. <br /> Council Member Nielsen reported that'Bike to Work Day"was a huge <br /> success this year. He also related that a Seattle Times article which <br /> included much information regarding housing prices/appreciation In our <br /> area suggests that the city has a reservoir of affordable housing. <br /> Council Member Gipson thanked the city council for their support in <br /> allowing the NLC FAIR Committee to meat Inthe city of Everett. He <br /> thanked the various city departments for their participatIon in providing <br /> various programs for the meeting.He also thanked Deb Williams for all <br /> her help and preparations for the meeting. <br /> 171 <br />
