June 6.2007 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> m.,June 6,2007 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Stonecipher presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Council <br /> Members Roberts,Olson.Hatloe,Gipson,Nielsen,and Stonecipher ware <br /> present. Mayor Stephenson and Council Member Overstreet were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 30,2007 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approvetl as printed.Council Members Olson antl Hatloe abstained from <br /> the vote. <br /> NEW FIRE FIGHTERS INTRODUCED <br /> President Stonecipher introduced Fire Chief Murray Gordon who <br /> introduced three new fire fighters;Darren Albright,Michael Bedard and <br /> Michael Rhodes. <br /> Council Member Gipson acknowledged acceptance of the three new fire <br />• fighters into the fire department. <br /> COUNCIL <br />• <br />• <br /> Council Member Nielsen and President Stonecipher reported that they <br /> along with Mayor Stephenson,and various community leaders visited the <br />• University of Washington branch campus In Tacoma.They received very <br /> worthwhile information which will be helpful In the quest for a branch <br /> campus in Everett. <br /> Council Member Olson introduced Susan Francisco, Cultural Arts <br /> Director,who invited everyone to attend the annual Sorticulture event <br /> scheduled for June 15.and 16.at Legion Park. <br /> President Stonecipher introduced Susan Watkins of Home School <br /> Alternative who brought her Washington State history class to observe <br /> city government. <br /> 187 <br />
