July 5,2007 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Members Hatloe and Gipson who were excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PRESENTATION—BUS RAPID TRANSIT <br />• <br /> Richard Tarty, Transportation Services, introduced Todd Morrow, <br /> Community Transit Director of Public Affairs,who spoke about the Swift <br /> Bus Rapid Transit line.He stated that Community Transit is working in <br /> partnership with Everett Transit on this project. <br />• <br /> Todd Morrow,Community Transit Director of Public Affairs,made a <br /> presentation regarding the new Bus Rapid Transit Plan(Swift)for Everett. <br /> He introduced June Duvall,Manager of Strategic Planning and Grants, <br /> and Barbara Earl,a consultant working on community outreach. He <br /> handed out two facts sheets regarding Everett and Community Transit. <br /> He explained that this project will run from Everett to the Aurora Transit <br /> Center on Highway 99/Evergreen Way.It will reduce travel time by 30% <br /> and will be the first bus rapid transit line in Washington.He talked about <br /> what the next steps will be and the Everett partnership. <br /> RESOLUTION—SPEED LIMIT ZONE <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,se onded by Council Member <br /> Roberts to adopt Resolution No.5915 establishing the Malts of ono <br /> 20 mph school speed limit zone and extending the boundaries of an <br /> existing 20 mph school speed limit zone adjacent to Horizon <br /> Elementary School. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Members Herbs,and Gipson who were excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 217 <br />
