July 11,2007 <br />• The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,July 11,2007 in the City Coundl Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> Vice President Olson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson:Council Members Roberts,Olson,Gipson,Nielsen,and • <br /> Overstreet were present.Council Members Hatloa and Stonecipher were <br /> excused. <br /> Mayor Stephenson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 5,2007 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed the month of July 2007 as'Parks and <br /> Recreation Month"in the City of Everett and invited all to participate in the <br /> recreational programs and enjoy the beauty that the parks offer. <br /> Mary Jane Anderson accepted the proclamation and thanked Mayor <br /> Stephenson and the City Council on behalf of the Parks Board. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts reported that he attended the rollout of the'787" <br /> end congratulated the Boeing Company on a revolutionary product. <br /> He also brought forth a concern from a constituent regarding fireworks <br /> and enforcement.Police Chief Schad responded that$12,000 was spent <br /> overtime on July 4.. Citizens have a responsibility to not purchase <br /> fireworks.The police do Issue fines and confiscate all illegal fireworks.A <br /> better education effort might be of some help. <br /> Another concem brought forth by Council Member Roberts and echoed by <br /> other council members related to signs,such as real estate signs,garage <br /> 226 <br />
