• <br /> August 22,2007 <br /> A discussion ensued regarding the need for city council approval of each <br /> multifamily tax exemption agreement. Ned Johnston,City Attorney, <br /> related Nat It wasnecessary,and many times these projects have <br /> individual characteistics that require a discretionary review by the city <br /> council. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that when the current ordinance <br /> regarding multifamily tax exemptions was passed,the tax exemption was <br /> conveyed to a number of smaller projects than had been previously.He <br /> voiced concern that maybe we have gone too small and this should be <br /> reviewed again. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Member Hatioe who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> AGREEMENT—STORM WATER MANAGEMENT <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts,seconded by Council Member <br /> Overstreet to authorrze the Mayor to sign the grant acceptance intent <br /> notice and grant agreement for a$75,000 grant from the Local <br /> Govemment Storm Water Grants Program. <br /> Council Member Roberts explained that there am huge costs associated <br /> with ramping up to meet the new NPDES requirements as was verified by <br /> Tom Thetford,Public Works.A report on how the city is ramping up may <br /> be appropriate. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Member Hatloe who was excused. <br /> Motion carded. <br /> 291 <br />
